πΆοΈ Privacy
Pepper Panic is a free browser game. We keep this short because we store very little.
What we store
- If you create an account (to save to the cloud and join the leaderboards): the chef name and username you pick, your password β stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text β an optional email address (only if you choose to add one, used solely to reset a forgotten password), your gameplay statistics (heat, bottles, clicks, and similar numbers), and a cloud copy of your game save. Playing is instant and an account is optional; we never ask for your real name.
- In your browser: game saves and settings live in your browser's local storage and never leave your device unless you join the leaderboards.
- Server logs: like nearly every website, our server logs requests including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. Logs rotate automatically and are not shared with anyone.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no third-party trackers, no analytics scripts in your browser.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is nothing worth selling β we don't know who you are.
- No cookies beyond what the game itself needs (we don't use cookies at all; saves use local storage).
Deleting your data
In the game, open π Account β ποΈ Delete account. This immediately and permanently erases your name, statistics, leaderboard entries, and cloud save from our server. Local saves in your own browser are yours β clear them via your browser's site-data settings if you wish.
Data requests
Everything we hold is self-service: manage or permanently erase your account any time from π Account in the game (see βDeleting your dataβ above) β no email or request form needed.
